Young Arthur had fallen into a deep affection with the baby Peter, accepting his role as Peter’s ‘mamma’. However, separation loomed dangerously close to the new family as Arthur’s owner, Alfred, could not afford to keep both Arthur and Peter with his small wages and hectic school schedule.
